as deep and mysterious as the galaxy, where colors morph into space and time. when sound becomes travel and everything is possible. this is where we meet these agents of rhythm, drum and song, who have come to share a message of ancestral connectivity in relation to an imagined future. wood // work presents an eclectic collection of 8 songs, poignantly named "iyapo", welcoming winter with a metaphoric jolt of kinetic energy and fly music.

Recorded in Berlin, Germany, New York City and Oakland, California, IYAPO, the debut album from newly formed musical collective, wood // work, is a bad ass piece of work. Comprised of electronic sages and grasshoppers alike, wood // work’s present configuration includes: Damon Bell aka D^BO (Deepblak / Meda Fury), Afrikan Sciences (Deepblak / PAN), Khalil Anthony (Shadeleaf/ Freerange) and The Neighbourhood Character (Uzuri /Off Minor). wood // work lays raw soundscapes with ancestral paint strokes on Iyapo, delivering a project birthed from a collective past, rooted in an eclectic present while reaching for a future sound. Iyapo is the line between spirit and electronic, music and science; a poignant body of music to end quite a year.

In 2018 wood // work endeavors to host and present a series of interventions to include live performances of their illuminate body of work. wood // work is an intersectional, non-binary / queer collective which communicates through diverse forms of creative expression. As a collective spirit recognizing the need for unity in black genius- we strive to express the diasporic continuum by channeling the world’s beauty and wisdom via music, the arts, and beyond. Wood Work was conceived with the purpose to create alternative avenues for socio-cultural mobility, professional self-empowerment, and transnational interchange in creative industries.
